Yes, the summer hasn’t been as good as we hoped and the colder autumn weather is hitting us earlier than we expected. Factor in the very high costs involved in embarking on an exotic holiday abroad – think Barbados – and it’s unlikely we’ll get any high-end rest before next year.

However, we have teamed up with Ocean Florida Villa Awards to offer you a chance to spend seven days in a luxury villa in Florida where it’s warm and sunny all year long. During your stay you’ll be able to check out the iconic Walt Disney World, the breathtaking Universal Orlando Resort (with the brand new Volcano Bay where you won’t even need to queue anymore for attractions), the heart-stopping SeaWorld, the thrilling Gatorland (a good chunk of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was shot there) and the super classic Fun Spot America – still the only family-owned park in the city. Should you ever miss Britain, Orlando has the sister ferris wheel of London Eye – Orlando Eye – which will make you feel at home.

Don’t forget the lucky winner will benefit from – on top of the return flights to Orlando and seven nights’s accommodation in a luxury villa – car hire for the duration of the stay so that you can check out the beautiful state of Florida. A must-see place is Daytona Beach, the mecca of motorsports, home to the headquarters of NASCAR and the Daytona 500 race. And of course there’s the beach, too. In the opposite direction – again just an hour’s drive – you can also check out Tampa, which is considered one of the best cities in the US for outdoor life.
