The Meyerowitz Stories is a new comedy-drama from Noam Baumbach. Following the trials and tribulations of an artist, Harold Meyerowitz, played by Dustin Hoffman, who saw success early in his career but who in later life did not reach the levels acclaim his life had seemed to promise. The drama and comedy unravel in equal measure in The Royal Tenenbaums-esque style as the film explores the family relationships between him and his sons Danny and Matthew, played by Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler, and his wife Maureen (Emma Thompson). As the cast and creative team hit the red carpet at the BFI London Film Festival premiere, we had the honour of speaking with the movie legend himself, Dustin Hoffman, about how he went about playing a character who never reached the levels of success he has himself.

The comedy genius Adam Sandler told us how working alongside longtime friend Ben Stiller was the fulfilment of a desire for both of them. And of the ease he had tapped into a character who doesn’t think that much of himself.Seasoned actress Emma Thompson was full of mischief on the red carpet and was also keen to share the fun the ensemble had on set.
