The top movie style icons of 2017
This year has given us some truly remarkable movies with a number of fantastically enviable style icons to boot! As the year draws to a close, we have taken a look back over our favourite character styles and listed them here for you to take inspiration from.
Diana Prince/ Wonder Woman – Wonder Woman
Okay, so it’s unlikely you’ll be rocking this look to the office come Monday morning. Although, did you know this was one of the most searched costumes of the year? We can certainly take some inspiration from Diana Prince’s strong sense of style.
Belle – Beauty and the Beast
Disney’s live action remake of this beloved classic allowed us to see our favourite Belle costumes in real life form and we loved every second of it. Her costumes stayed true to the original animation, just with a slightly more styled and wearable feel.
Mason Weaver – Kong: Skull Island
Brie Larson looked amazing as Mason Weaver in Kong: Skull Island. Her outfits were effortlessly cool and feel achievable in our everyday lives… minus the flare gun.
Lorraine Broughton – Atomic Blonde
The award for the sexiest wardrobe of the year most definitely goes to Charlize Theron as Lorraine Broughton in Atomic Blonde. Her over-the-knee boots, higher than high hemlines and steamy lingerie was certainly a memorable, not to mention insanely enviable, collection.
Joi – Blade Runner 2049
Let’s just get this straight. Joi from Blade Runner 2049 not only has Ryan Gosling as her boyfriend, she can willingly change outfit just by thinking about it? No, we’re not jealous. Not at all.
Laureline – Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
Cara seems to be sharing her excellent sense of style with the characters she portrays on the big screen. When she’s not wearing protective armour, Laureline has a quirky, futuristic style that we really love and don’t often get to see.
Taylor Sloane – Ingrid Goes West
If Taylor Sloane were a real person, we too would be following her Insta account! Her uncomplicated, bohemian style has us wishing it were summer again.
