The Shape of Water wins big at Time’s Up-driven Oscars 2018
This was, not-so-arguably, the most anticipated Oscars’ ceremony in decades. 2017 saw the birth of the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements after allegations about Harvey Weinstein and many other men in the industry. Greta Gerwig and Jordan Peele were nominated for Achievement in Directing. Lady Bird, I, Tonya, The Post and Three Billboards gave us a feministic flair. Homosexuality was beautifully represented by Call Me By Your Name. Roger Deakins was, for once, not up against Emmanuel Lubezki. And Christopher Nolan was finally nominated for Best Director. There was so much to look forward to. Below are the winners and the nominees.
