Best high street headbands to channel the 90s trend
For many of us, our headband obsession began back in the 90s when we exclusively wore black velvet headbands with our names written in gel paint. Then, when Gossip Girl burst on to our screens with the fashion icon that was, Blair Waldorf, we considered them once more. However, once the show was over and since we were no longer in year six, we stopped wearing them.
Well, 2018 is here, and the headband is back with a vengeance! It will be the go-to fashion accessory for spring and with the insanely gorgeous selection available in the high street stores recently, we couldn’t be happier!
Velvet twist headband, £3.99, New Look
Just in case you’re feeling nostalgic, New Look have a black velvet headband available. This one doesn’t have our name written on it sadly, but it’s a heck of a lot more stylish and will go with everything!
Occasion bow headband, £6, Asos
This gorgeous green headband will look equally cool with mom jeans and a white T-shirt as it will with a formal dress. The colour is deep and sumptuous whilst the fabric gives off a lovely shine.
Aztec print turban headband, £4, Boohoo
We are loving the boho vibes from this headband. The intricate Aztec print is bold and daring but the calm blues, oranges and browns give this accessory a certain casual and earthy feel. This one is perfect for festivals and summer camping trips.
Tropical print headband, £7.99, Zara
This adventurous flowery number by Zara is perfect for spring/summer. It’ll brighten up a casual ensemble or complement a floaty floral dress, preferably with a clashing colour palette!
Floral jacquard embellished headband, £23.95, Anthropologie
This delicate, embellished cream headband is the perfect option for a more formal occasion… or if you just want to feel like a princess for the day! It’s beautifully made and the bead detailing is just dreamy.
Checked turban-style headband, £4.99, Bershka
Black and white is always a great option for an accessory that you want to wear again and again. Firstly, it will match with every colour you choose to wear on any given day. Secondly, it will be a lot less noticeable that you’ve worn it for the hundredth day running!
