Marble has been used in the art and design world for thousands and thousands of years, so much so that it dates back to the early Egyptian cultures. The stone material was even used to construct famous architectural projects like the Taj Mahal and the Pantheon, among other popular structures that you may know of. That’s not where the marble legacy ends, though.

In recent years, the snow white and spotless stone has made its way around the world. Marble’s main prerogative is showcasing its features through that of kitchen and bathroom countertops, but the past five or so years have changed that dynamic for the better.

The marble skirt

Skirts have always been a part of the fashion world, especially when it comes to business attire. Over the past few years, however, skirts have shifted design patterns; they no longer want to be solid colours, and that’s a good thing! Instead, fashion designers are picking patterns with a little extra oomph, like marble.

Pair a marble skirt with a sophisticated black shirt and boots or booties to tie your business look together. If you’d like our input and recommendation, make the black shirt solid in colour. Flare can be present, but once you start throwing a bunch of colours into the mix, it may take away from the marble aesthetic.

The marble shoes

Shoes have been up and coming in the past few years, especially where marble’s concerned. These stylistic and trendy heels, flats, and sandals are a perfect add-on to an already classy business look.

Be sure to avoid clashes; do not add marble shoes to an outfit that already has a marble skirt or shirt in the mix. Marble accessories are an exception.

Oh, the marble phone case, how it’s flooded social media outlets like Instagram and Facebook by force. This handy-dandy protective covering reassures you that if you drop your phone, the damage won’t be significant.

And when we say that the phone has flooded social media outlets, we mean marketing strategies have been implemented for customers to purchase the case, but that’s not all. Users on Instagram and Facebook have also been drawing attention to the crafted item by posting all about it.

The marble leggings

Black leggings are simple yet sleek. But some are slowly getting rid of their black legging obsession to transition they’re focus to something with a little bit of contrasting detail. That’s where the marble leggings come in.

This alternative to jeans and dress pants is sweeping the nation. Not only are they eye-catching “pants”, but they’re also super comfy and affordable.

The marble cake

We had to throw a funny in the mix! Marble cake is delicious, but we wouldn’t necessarily say it’s becoming a trend.

Fashion tip: Marble material already draws attention to the clothing item it’s present on. With that being said, try not to overdo the outfit with additional patterns and elements. Stick to simple add ons; small accessories can help make the marble pop, just be sure to stay away from items that “overkill”.

Marble has been around for centuries, and many designers in graphics, interiors, web, fashion, print, and product are bringing it back.  If the last five years has taught us anything, it’s that the marble design idea has expanded well beyond kitchen and bathroom countertops.
