Ellie Goulding marries Caspar Jopling in a bespoke Chloe dress
This weekend saw the celebrity wedding of the year take place as Ellie Goulding married Caspar Jopling in a star-studded ceremony at York Minster Cathedral.
She may have had an impressive guest list, including the likes of Sienna Miller, Katy Perry and Princess Eugenie, but the bride ensured all eyes were on her when she arrived in a Volkswagen Campervan.
Stepping out to cheering waiting crowds, Ellie was a vision in an all-white ensemble that took 640 hours to complete. Designed by Natacha Ramsay-Levi for Chloe, her breathtaking Victoriana gown was characterised by a high ruffle collar, structured shoulders and hand-embroidered White Rose of York motifs. Meanwhile, the singer’s silk tulle and organza veil added a personal touch to her look with adornment of the couple’s initials.
“We worked on a collage of references from the Victorian era that she wanted to weave into the design, in dialogue with the historical York cathedral where the ceremony was to take place,” Natacha explained. “Her creative point of view made the process fluid and inspiring, and I feel that the end result really reflects her personal sense of style.”
Throughout the course of the evening, Ellie proceeded to change into a further three custom-made outfits: an off-the-shoulder Stella McCartney dress, a beaded Ralph & Russo two-piece, and a show-stopping mini from Balmain.
