Marta Jakubowski spring/summer 2020 collection catwalk show for LFW

Marta Jakubowski’s SS20 season is inspired by the iconic heroines of both classic and current cinema such as Lola from Run Lola Run and Marlene Dietrich, presenting a determined and powerful woman. The collection merges the codes of dress from different eras, subverting conventional ideas of power and rewriting established archetypes in the context of the designer’s contemporary idols. Abstracted details in the pieces are used to delve into this central theme whilst adding personal, sensitive touches. Purples, blues, browns and black on both broad-shouldered and off-the-shoulder blouses, jumpsuits and jackets create a sleek and sophisticated yet authoritative look.
