American screenwriter, director and producer Ryan Murphy collaborates with Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan to create and co-produce the upcoming American satirical comedy series The Politician. Ben Platt takes the lead role as wealthy Santa Barbarian student Payton Hobart, whose political aspirations send him on a ruthless mission to get elected as student body president of Saint Sebastian High School and secure a place at Harvard University. When fellow student Astrid (Lucy Boynton) becomes his rival candidate, he must rally up his campaign managers, including Laura Dreyfuss, and find a vice-president who makes him seem more authentic. Choosing kindhearted and sickly classmate Infinity Jackson (Zoey Deutch) to stand by his side, he embarks on a whirlwind of dark setbacks and outrageous revelations.

With Gwyneth Paltrow in the role of Payton’s adoptive mother, Jessica Lange as Infinity’s grandmother, and various well-known faces offering guest star appearances, the series is a highly anticipated and engaging political satire that speaks volumes about the world we live in today.

Former Broadway star and talented musical actor Ben Platt tells us what it was like working so closely with his on-screen mother Gwyneth Paltrow, and the important issues the series has highlighted for his generation.

After a breakout lead role opposite Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody, actress Lucy Boynton talks to us about her new role as the high school mean girl, Astrid, and the camaraderie among the cast of The Politician.

We talk to actress Zoey Deutch about how amazing it was to have been offered her role as Infinity Jackson and being cast alongside Hollywood veteran Jessica Lange.

The lovely Laura Dreyfuss tells us about her character in the series and her plans to release some musical material of her own.
