Five hobbies you can enjoy at home
Coronavirus has forced everyone to stay at home. Most countries have enforced lockdowns and curfews to prevent people from coming out of their houses. With such strict regulations to stop this pandemic, it is challenging to spend time at home with nothing to do. But where there is a will, there is a way.
Most people don’t get enough time for their hobbies. Do you belong to this group of people? If yes, this is the best time to go back and explore those hobbies. If you didn’t have a hobby before, here are a few that you can try while under lockdown.
1. Gardening
With a backyard that remains empty for most parts of the year, this is the ideal time to convert it into a small garden. If you have already stocked up on fruit before the lockdown, don’t throw the seeds away. Don’t worry, you don’t need to grow big fruit trees and block your entire backyard. Try to sow some lemon and strawberry seeds in soft soil. Apart from fruits, you can also sow seeds of flowering plants. Hibiscus is a widely available flowering plant that you can try growing in your garden.
2. Cooking
Did you have to give up cooking because of your 9-to-6 job? If yes, you can pick up your passion once again. Maybe the lockdown is giving you a chance to think about whether you should continue with your passion or go back to your job. Jokes aside, you can kill time by preparing a new meal every day. But make sure you don’t run out of ingredients or food supplies in this process.
3. Online games
Do you feel that COVID-19 is keeping you away from your friends? You can still reunite by playing online games together. Download one of the apps that provide an array of games and you will not have to worry as much about seeing your friends. There are several platforms, from Apple Arcade to Facebook Gaming. Yes, playing with odds is riskier but it could be a good moment to try your luck. Besides, you can spend hours playing with your pals. You and your friends can go through all the games and guides so that you all are aware of the rules and regulations.
4. Photography
While it is true that you can’t go out to take photographs, you can still capture abstract photos. Abstract photography is widely popular. Look up techniques and how to identify objects for abstract photography. If you have the gear, start snapping right away.
5. Exercise
If you are not a fitness freak but promise yourself that you will get rid of your love handles, this is the best time to keep your promise. You now have enough time to exercise regularly. While it is true that exercising for a fortnight isn’t enough to flatten your abdomen fat, you can still get into the habit of working out. This habit will push you to exercise once the lockdown ends.
Now that you know five different hobbies, start with the one that interests you the most. Direct all your dedication to it so that you can continue your hobby even after the pandemic has gone away.
