Our favourite beauty subscription boxes

Our favourite beauty subscription boxes

With lockdown still very much a part of our daily lives, we are all naturally spending more time at home. This means we can no longer pop to the shops in the same way we once could to browse the beauty aisles or pick up our favourite essentials.

Never has there been a more convenient time to sign up for a beauty subscription box. They’re the perfect way to try out new products without having to splurge on the full size before you’ve tried it. There’s a whole host of subscriptions you can try too, so there really is something to suit everyone. We’ve lined up some of the best on the market.

Glossybox, from £8.50 a month

Try out a host of premium beauty and skincare each month with a Glossybox subscription. Starting from as little as £8.50 a month, it’s one of the cheapest on the market but that doesn’t mean it scrimps on its share of luxury brands.

There are five products in each iconic pink box, and previous boxes have included premium brands like Nailberry, Huda Beauty, Nars and Rituals.

As well as their regular monthly beauty box, they also offer limited edition boxes throughout the year too. We loved their Elemis box, packed full of luxurious skincare. Their June box has already sold out but there’s still time to get your hands on July.

The Natural Beauty Box, from £24.50 a month

If you’re keen to discover natural, organic and cruelty-free beauty brands then this one will be right up your street. Each box includes five to seven products worth over £50, plus they are themed around the changing seasons meaning there’s always something to suit your skin’s needs.

Finding ethical brands you trust can be a lengthy process, so this box is a great choice if you’re keen to discover more vegan skincare and beauty brands but don’t know where to start. Simply sit back and let this eco-luxe beauty subscription do all the hard work for you.

Birchbox, from £10 a month

As one of the leading beauty boxes, Birchbox has dominated the beauty market, making a name for itself as one of the first subscription services on the scene. And it’s easy to see why!

Unlike other subscriptions where there is little choice over the goodies you receive, Birchbox asks you to fill out your details to generate a personalised box delivered straight to your door every month. Each month the box features a new, gorgeous and utterly chic design that never disappoints.

Cohorted, from £39.99 a month

When it comes to premium beauty, no subscription does it better than Cohorted. It’s easily one of the priciest on the market and you get what you pay for. The sleek black box features a mix of renowned high end brands such as Lancôme, Suqqu and Anastasia Beverley Hills, as well as lesser known brands included as part of their Brand Discovery feature.

Each box comes with a mini monthly magazine packed full of topical features and articles offering helpful tips and tricks explaining how best to use the products. This is by far the priciest on our list but if you’re looking for something to help you really invest in your beauty and skincare then there’s no better option.

Lookfantastic Beauty Box, from £13 a month

Last but definitely not least, Lookfantastic have been making some of the best beauty boxes on the market for years. With six products in each box, there’s a good mix between well-known classics and new brands. As well as their regular monthly boxes, they also have Mystery boxes which include six products for just £10.

Like Glossybox, their extra limited edition boxes are great value for money and perfect as gifts for loved ones. Previous boxes have included collaborations with popular brands, such as, Eve Lom, REN and Molton Brown. The new Mankind Hero Edit would make a thoughtful gift for anyone needing some Father’s Day Inspiration.
