Ten great Christmas meal kits and takeaway services
This year Christmas day won’t be anything like what we are used to, but – fear not – a new wave of options has emerged during the last few weeks from top restaurants and exotic marketplaces that will make the festive celebration easier and potentially tastier than ever before.
Iberica
Restaurant group Iberica won’t let the festivities be hampered this year with the launch of Nacho Manzano at Home as well as a host of online activities and luxury hampers celebrating traditional dishes, wine and the culture of Spain at this time of year. Carefully curated by Michelin-starred Executive Chef Nacho Manzano, taking inspiration from advent in Asturias where he grew up, Iberica’s lineup will be the top of every foodie’s Christmas list to enjoy this year.
Iberica have selected their most loved dishes from their popular restaurant menu for their home delivery boxes, offering up the perfect treat to escape via Spain or feast in the runup to Christmas Day. The Feast Box is perhaps the most tempting option, with preorders encouraged for a true Spanish Christmas for those who might want to do something a little different for Christmas this year. The celebration box includes tapas of bread and extra virgin olive oil speciality olives, pan con tomate, followed by charcuterie, salads of anchovy adorned tomatoes, a cheese board of five Spanish cheeses before moving on to dishes of octopus, prawns and the centrepiece of a leg of milk fed lamb. Dessert is a crowning Gloria Cheesecake. With simple instructions to finish preparing your meal, a delicious pick-me-up can be delivered right to your door. (Starting from £66 per person)
Adam Handling Hame
The festive season is certainly going to feel a bit different this year (what hasn’t?!), but that doesn’t mean it has to be any less spectacular. The Hame Christmas menu kicks off in signature fashion with sourdough, chicken butter and of course – Adam’s legendary cheese doughnuts. Then for the “Main Event”, it’s your choice of a stuffed turkey crown or Beef Wellington, each served with all the trimmings. Or there’s the option of adding a vegetarian pumpkin pie with all the trimmings for any non-meat eaters. For dessert, it’ll be a tough decision between an Adam Handling Christmas pudding, or a deliciously spiced Tarte Tatin. To top it off, there’s the option to add on a cheese board, and the Christmas kit comes complete with a celebratory bottle of Adam Handling Own Label English Sparkling Wine. The Christmas Hame kit is £250 and serves three to four people. Final delivery date before Christmas will be 23rd December. To place a Hame box order, visit www.adamhandling.co.uk/hame.
