The Batman family

The Batman family

Batman is one of the most iconic superheroes to exist in the DC universe. Unlike Superman who possesses the ability to fly or Wonder Woman with superior strength and agility, Batman is among the very few human superheroes.

So why is Batman such a popular character even after 82 years since it was first created? The imperfection of Batman or Bruce Wayne is what sets it apart from any other superhero story. Wayne is vulnerable and flawed, which are some characteristics we rarely associate with superheroes. But despite his lack of incredible strength or x-ray vision, Batman doesn’t hold back when it comes to protecting what he loves.

While Christopher Nolan’s Batman adhered to a “no-kill policy”, Zack Snyder didn’t bother sticking to a morally superior hero that doesn’t kill or take the high road.

The Bat Family itself is nothing short of fascinating. From Batman’s perpetual ally Alfred to various sidekick Robin, it is a world worth delving into.

Batman is a superhero that transcends age groups. A superhero-loving toddler would love to dress up like him for Halloween, while adult fans can recognise themselves in the humanness of Bruce Wayne. That’s one of the reasons why Batman has translated so well from comics to the big screen as well as the small screen.
