Apple introduces iOS 15: Even more protection and new design innovations
For the second year in a row, Apple is giving a presentation at the WWDC Online Developers’ Conference. This event is usually dedicated to the update of the company’s operating system, which will be released during the year. So what be expected in the next year?
Many Apple users – including people who work in finance and tech, as well as players of digital sport games and users of some of the best online casinos in New Zealand – believed that the company would release hardware, like the MacBook Pro 14 and 16 with a new design, or the iPad mini in the style of the latest Pro and Air. Here’s a rundown of what was presented at the conference and what will be at the top of tech fans’ shopping lists very soon.
Redesign of notifications in iOS 15
The company has completely redesigned the notifications and lock screen in iOS 15. For example, users can now group notifications by topic and display a summary of the latest notifications. This can be useful because the system will show one card that contains all the important messages per the whole “group.”
Meditation with WatchOS 8
The operating system for Apple Watch has the least changes. The Breathing app will display a meditation mode that not only helps users breathe correctly but also shows motivating phrases. In addition, the watch has learned to monitor breathing during sleep and warn of dangerous anomalies. The manufacturer has added new dials with photos on the user’s smartphone, as well as Taijiquan and Pilates training.
macOS with commands
There are also few changes in macOS 12 Monterey, the most important of which is the complete redesign of Safari. In Apple’s browser, all items are now grouped in one line, including open tabs. One can even group tabs according to specific topics and have them synced across all Apple devices. Thus, the very same items can be assembled on a Mac and then opened on an iPhone.
More cool features
The new technological solutions by Apple do not end there. Other innovations include –
-
Group movie viewing in FaceTime
The SharePlay feature will appear in the FaceTime application, with which users can broadcast their screens or media content to other participants in a video call. As an example, Apple showed sharing music with the ability to switch tracks by all meeting participants and watch a movie in a group. -
Inheritance of Apple ID
A separate section of the presentation was devoted to privacy and personal data protection. The new system will display a menu of the history of requests to the user’s personal data from sites and applications. It also contains a list of all trackers that have ever tried to get user data. The paid version of Apple’s cloud storage is now called iCloud+.
Also of note is the company’s new technology to recognise text in images, including phone numbers, addresses, links and records. Finally, they announced the redesign of the Maps application with public transport timetables and detailed maps of the new format (but they provide high-quality navigation only in a limited number of countries).
