Easy Life at Brixton Academy

Wednesday night kicked off Easy Life’s second and final show at London’s Brixton Academy, putting an end to the UK leg of their tour. The English band, who just released their latest album Life’s a Beach earlier this year, are incomparable to any other in the industry at the moment. 

The lights were blinding as the Leicester-originating group emerged on stage, surrounded by cut-outs of beach waves to match their album aesthetic, and opened with their 2017 single Pockets, sending the crowd absolutely wild. The mix of alternative R&B and indie-pop styles created the perfect mix of ultimate grooviness, allowing even the worst dancers in the audience to attempt to bust a move. 

Throughout the show, the energy in the venue stayed at a constant high. Grooving to the band’s hits, such as Petty Crime or Slow Motion, the crowd stayed on their feet dancing and singing every single word to every song. The frontman, Murray Matravers, kept the chaotic and unmatched atmosphere going throughout their set, even challenging concertgoers to help a band member crowd-surf to the back of the venue. However, the singer also made sure to check everyone was happy, hydrated and had space. 

Among the final songs was one of the most popular singles from Life’s a Beach, Nightmares, which made the spectators go absolutely crazy, ending the night on a high. The group closed the show with nothing but love and appreciation for the fans, but also their whole team (they even brought the security guards for the venue on stage to thank them). 

Without a doubt, Easy Life know how to put on an incredible show and give an outstanding performance that won’t disappoint.
