The biggest hair trends you need to try this spring
With the arrival of spring, you may be feeling in need of a refresh when it comes to your hair. This year, styles that began growing in popularity in 2022 are back and bigger than ever before. Whether you’re looking to change up your cut or colour, with the help of expert stylists at leading hair salon Live True London, we’ve rounded up the trending haircuts and hottest colours you need to try this spring.
Curve cut
Inspired by the likes of Lucy Hale and Meghann Fahy, the curve cut is all about adding depth and body to long hair with choppy layers. This trending look is a modern and wearable version of the 90s Rachel Green haircut, with soft face-framing pieces at the front and horseshoe-shaped layers through the back.
Live True London expert stylist Tyler Moore explains, “We expect to see our long-hair lovers growing even longer locks. In particular, layered cuts are going to be more and more popular this year.”

Low maintenance bronde
As we head towards warmer months, we expect to see a resurgence in sun-kissed golden blondes with a deeper, natural base colour which creates an effortlessly chic and low-maintenance style. Soft, blended balayage and fine baby highlights mimic the summer sun’s natural effect on hair, giving a golden glow to mid-toned brunettes that creates an off-duty supermodel vibe.
Think of the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Margot Robbie, and Hailey Bieber when heading to the salon. And the good news is, with this low-maintenance trend you’ll be able to embrace your natural regrowth and save money, too.

Box bob
One haircut we’ve already seen dominating the first few months of 2023 is the box bob. Shorter than shoulder length, this style is particularly well suited to those with heart-shaped faces or strong jawlines, helping to draw attention to your features.
Moore explains, “We expect to see bobs getting shorter, with a resurgence of the blunt and boxy cut. This bob hits around the chin, or just below, and the key motif is a blunt, sharp cut to create body.”
Model Hailey Bieber is usually at the centre of some of the biggest trends, with her pearly iridescent mani sweeping salons everywhere last year, and has already embraced the chop, showcasing her new look at this year’s Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.
Chocolate brown
For anyone with dark hair, it’s time to elevate your natural shade by opting for an even darker tone this year. Chestnut and chocolate brown shades make for this new ultra-rich and super-glossy look – perfect for a healthy and natural appearance.
Oscar nominee, Ana de Armas, and supermodel Karlie Kloss have both been seen recently sporting this rich shade, giving their locks a glossy finish, all while brightening their complexion.
Shaggy bowl
Live True London’s Tyler Moore expects to see modern iterations of the bowl cut this year, giving a modern twist to the 70s style. He explains, “When crossed with more of a shag style, this rounded cut can add soft dimension and movement to the hair.”
Perfect to hide top-heavy face shapes, the shag haircut is a loose, undone style that doesn’t need to be precise. Layers at the top and sides with feathered ends give the look a messy, cool-girl vibe that is versatile enough to work, no matter your hair texture. Look to Jenna Ortega for all the inspiration you need for this style.
Standout copper
After growing in popularity in 2022 with the likes of Sydney Sweeney and Kendall Jenner experimenting with coppery tones, this trending hair colour is continuing to gain popularity in 2023. This shade is the perfect statement as we head into spring, working on both brunettes and blondes.
Megan Fox ditched her darker locks for a deep copper cut to enhance her features, while Emily in Paris star Camille Razat has given her bright blonde hair a refresh with a warm copper hue.
