TĀTĀ Eatery takes over The Sea, The Sea’s Chef’s Table in Hackney for a month-long residency

From today, The Sea, The Sea will welcome TĀTĀ Eatery for a month-long residency at their Chef’s Table in Hackney. Ana Gonçalves and Zijun Meng, the duo behind TĀTĀ, will showcase their unique fusion of East-meets-West cuisine, melding a culinary heritage of Mediterranean and Asian flavours with exceptional local seafood from The Sea, The Sea’s dedicated supply line.

TĀTĀ Eatery, known for its nomadic spirit, will embrace this exclusive opportunity at the only UK fish wholesaler with bases in both Cornwall and London. The Sea, The Sea stands out for its meticulous sourcing of its seafood, harvested from a co-operative of day-boats, divers and markets in Cornwall, Devon, and Dorset, as well as the Inner Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland. All of the produce is collected straight from the fishermen in the team’s own transport, meaning everything gets to the plate with 24 hours of a catch. This attention to quality extends to their Hackney outpost, where their Chef’s Table experience provides an intimate counter-style dining space, serving just 14 guests per sitting.

In this series, a roster of chefs are being invited to flex their culinary prowess, crafting a menu of their choosing to fully utilise the bounty of fresh seafood. Patrons seated at the counter throughout July and the start of August will be able to witness the craft behind their meal from the open kitchen.

This collaboration will combine TĀTĀ’s distinct cuisine with The Sea, The Sea’s unrivalled produce, offering a unique culinary experience in the heart of Hackney that is inkeeping with Gonçalves and Meng’s commitment to bringing people together through food. Expect exquisite dishes that reflect the daily catch and the UK’s micro-seasonality, adding a fresh and flavourful twist to your summer.
