The hottest nail trends to try this autumn
As we head towards colder months, the change of season sees an exciting shift in nail trends. Whether you’re looking for something minimalist, or a bold statement, these looks have something to suit every occasion; from metallic tips to daring reds and cosy chocolate shades. With the help of award-winning luxury London nail salon, Townhouse, we’ve rounded up some of the best trending designs you need to try this autumn.
Metallic moment
Mimicking the metallic trend that dominated the AW23 runways earlier this year is this metallic nail look. Embrace this year’s party season early with a touch of silver chrome to make your nails pop. For a subtle nod to the trend, opt for silver half-moons or pair your French mani with silver chrome for a modern take.
Townhouse Founder and Creative Director, Juanita Huber-Millet, explains: “Metallic tones are having a moment across fashion and beauty right now – it’s super trendy and adds an instant edge to your look!”
Latte nails
After latte makeup exploded into a viral TikTok sensation earlier this year, it was only a matter of time before the trend filtered down to our nails. Moving away from the milky manis of the summer, this trend sees us embrace rich brown hues like coffee, caramel and chocolate. Townhouse’s new AW 23/24 Nail Art Collection incorporates the look with a classic mocha French manicure, finished off with a touch of chrome buffed across the nails for an elegant and sophisticated look.
Blush nails
One of the newest techniques to take over the nail industry is blush nails, which uses a fluffy brush to gently tap colour onto the centre of the nails and create a beautiful, airbrushed look. This is a minimalist and classy look for the cooler months and works best with a neutral base, with a vibrant pop of pink in the centre of the nail to help it stand out.
Commenting on the trend, Juanita says: “Blush pink nails are the latest trend from Korea and the aim is a fresh rosy glow. Mimicking that vibrant blush of colour you get with just-pinched cheeks – a gorgeous new rosy look everyone will want.”
Timeless red
Arguably one of the most timeless and classic nail shades of all time, it’s hard to go wrong with a gorgeous red. After being recently overshadowed in favour of trending shades like glazed Hailey Bieber doughnut nails, a new season means red is making a true return to form – instantly elevating and pulling together any look.
Straight from the golden age of Hollywood, red is back with a bang, with true reds and rich plum shades already sported by the likes of Victoria Beckham and Sofia Richie. You can try Townhouse’s new AW design which blends a deep berry red with upside-down half-moons to create an eye-catching design that commands attention.
Lip gloss nails
Nude nails will never not be “in”, even when it comes to autumn. This look sees sheer pale pink or milky tone base colours very close to your skin tone (think OPI’s Bubble Bath or Love is in the Bare), finished off with a high gloss topcoat to give your nails a gorgeously glossy finish.
Juanita adds: “This super wearable, fuss-free look follows on from the popular dewy make-up trend sported by many celebs. This look is stunning for mid to long-length nails but also perfectly suits shorter lengths and shapes.”
