Eras Tour is one that started out with lots of surprises for anticipating fans. But one that got to them most is discovering the concerts go on for more than 3 hours, instead of the traditional 2 hours.
Glendale’s State Farm Stadium was packed with thousands of fans who were eager to see where the night’s performance would be from since Taylor had released more than 4 albums and rerecorded new versions of 2 previous ones.
They weren’t disappointed as the pop star surfed through many of her songs from different albums making the extra hours unnoticeable and fans wishing for more after it was over.
“Champaign Problems” Ovation in L.A. – August 8th, 2023
Every night, Taylor performs “Champaign Problems” alone at the piano. It is her first solo performance of the night and the fans love it so much since they relate deeply with the lyrics.
Since the Tour began, fans made it a tradition to cease that moment and sing out loud leaving Taylor with no choice but to let them have the light.
On August 8th, Swifties in L.A decided to make the concert a memorable one for Taylor as they kept the Ovation going for 8 minutes. The act left Taylor with a teary face as she confessed it to be one she will never forget in her life.
“Speak Now” in Nashville, Taylor Swift’s Version – May 5th, 2023
The moment when Nashville turned purple as Taylor announced the release date of her “Speak Now” version, is one Swifties will never forget.
She said, “Rather than speaking about it, I will show you if you look,” as she directed the fans’ attention to the screens of Nissan Stadium which featured the release date of the album, and its cover.
Swift also performed “Sparks Fly” Which came as a surprise to her hometown fans and they loved it.
“Karma” Remix Onstage with Ice Spice – May 26th, 2023
Taylor’s effect was heavily felt on “Karma” after she performed the remix on stage with Ice Spice. As a rapper born and bred in the Bronx, her appearance on the stage alongside Taylor made the crowd go wild.
“Karma remix” which was released earlier the same day shot up the charts after Taylor and Ice Spice’s performance that night. Even though a lot of fans think Spice joining Taylor on the stage was a PR move for the derogatory comments Matty Healy (Taylor’s rumored lover) made about Spice, everyone enjoyed the night and tagged it a magical moment of Swift’s Eras tour.
“Clean on Repeat” – April 1st, 2023
Taylor Swift performed “Clean” a track from “1989” twice, on different nights and the fans felt honored. She claimed to have performed the second time in a higher key after remembering to have violated her own rule of no repeating songs throughout the tour.
The first performance was a request from Gracie Abrams after confessing that “Clean” was her favorite track from “1989” back in February this year.
Gracie wrote on her Instagram, “I will remember this feeling forever” after Taylor’s performance that night.
“Dear John” First Performance in 11 Years – June 24th, 2023
Minneapolis holds the record for the day Taylor chooses to perform “Dear John” for the first time in 11 years and that choice cured the anticipation fever that Swifties had before then.
As a specialty for the Eras tour, a lot of fans kept anticipating when Taylor would bless them with “Dear John” after she had revealed the release of her version of “Speak Now.” They knew it was only a matter of time and they finally got their wish on the 24th of June.
The history of “Dear John” can be traced back to Taylor’s ex, John Mayer, with a lot of fans speculating that he is the inspiration behind the lyrics. Even though Taylor had a disclaimer reminding the crowd that “Dear John” was not written for her ex, and they should be kind and gentle when interacting online.
Nonetheless, emotions were high and the fans loved every bit of the performance.
First Rain of Eras Tour – May 7th, 2023
Nashville being the hometown of Taylor Swift enjoyed a great deal of the Eras tour. As if scripted, the 3rd night of Taylor’s concert came with the rain and she didn’t hesitate to perform in it, giving her hometown folks the best performance of the tour.
A lot of fans had hoped to be the first stop where rain meets Taylor so they could relive the Gillette Stadium headlining rain show, only Nashville got lucky.
She was soaked in rain and still managed to give Nashville one hell of a performance that lasted until 2 a.m. Making it one of the magical moments of the Eras Tour.
Taylor Honors Kobe Bryant’s Daughter, Bianca – August 3rd, 2023
Swifties who were present at the So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles can never forget the moment when Taylor hugged and placed her Red bowler hat on the 6-years-old daughter of Vanessa and Kobe Bryant, Bianka while performing “22.”
The moment immediately went viral with Swifties confirming it to be one of the Eras tour memories they will hold onto for the rest of their lives.
“Last Kiss” – July 8th, 2023
“Last Kiss” was officially named the saddest song Taylor has ever written by Miss. Fountain Pen and it set a certain mood on the night of July 8th when she performed it on her koi fish guitar, as a specialty of the Eras tour.
While performing, Swift was overwhelmed by crying girls from the crowd that she forgot the lyrics a couple of times and had to start all over again.
She did lighten the mood of everyone after she performed “That July 9th” as it was, as a matter of fact, the 8th of July.
The Unveiling of “1989” – September 9th, 2023
Before the Eras Tour began, fans speculated the release date of Taylor’s version of the “1989” Album. However, they were a little bit doubtful since she already dropped the dates for “Speak Now.”
Taylor however already had a surprise planned out for the last day of the Eras Tour. She wore the blue color of every costume used in the Eras tour that night, a color adopted for the “1989” Album.
Emotions were high when fans finally decoded the message and Taylor had a way of ending it all by performing “New Romantics” as the surprise song for the night.
