London’s St. James’s to host Big Nights at Bardo series

London’s St. James’s neighbourhood is launching Big Nights at Bardo, a series of gastronomic celebrations inspired by the beloved food film Big Night, bringing together the crème de la crème of Italian cuisine. The event, which will take place on the 30th of April and 1st of May, will see Bardo’s executive chef, Graziano Bonacina, collaborate with two Michelin-starred chef Anthony Genovese of Il Pagliaccio in Rome, alongside other Italian culinary luminaries.

Bardo is famous for its vibrant atmosphere, where both locals and international visitors come to indulge in the sweet life offered by its extensive menu and the entertainment, including live jazz music. The restaurant is introducing Big Nights @ Bardo as a new programme of 4-hands events designed to showcase the talents of both legendary and emerging Italian chefs, set for an unforgettable experience combining great food, culture, and the glamour reminiscent of Hollywood’s golden age.

The first guest chef to grace Bardo’s kitchen is Anthony Genovese, a talent born in France to an Italian family, whose culinary journey has taken him from rigorous French training to various global destinations, finally leading him to Rome where he established his two Michelin-starred restaurant, Il Pagliaccio. Genovese will bring to London his personalised blend of Italian cooking with Asian inspirations, particularly from Japan.

Behind the scenes of this gastronomic venture is Luca Maggiora, a well-known figure in London’s entertainment and hospitality industry, who has played a significant role in making Bardo a destination for both food enthusiasts and those seeking an exceptional night out. Maggiora’s passion for Italian culture and dedication to deliverying a gourmet experience are evident in every aspect of the establishment, from the menu to the atmosphere.

As Big Nights @ Bardo prepares to make its debut, it promises not only to be a celebration of Italian culinary excellence but also an homage to the power of food in bringing people together, much like the memorable feasts depicted in the film that inspired it.
