Royal Ascot publish lookbook ahead of 2024 meeting

Preparations are well underway for those involved in Royal Ascot 2024. The five-day meeting at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire is one of the leading horse racing events in the world, not just for the competition on the course, but also for the fashion at the meeting.

Celebration of history

The main theme of Royal Ascot 2024 is a celebration of the history of the meeting. The lookbook encourages racegoers to wear some of the best past outfits ever seen at the royal event.

If you are lucky enough to be attending the meeting this year, your dress code and recommendation will depend on the enclosure. The Royal Enclosure is the strictest, as ladies must wear a dress or skirt falling just above knee length or longer, while gentlemen are required to attend in a morning dress of black, grey, or navy material. Ladies and gentlemen both need to wear a hat.

The Queen Anne, Village, and Windsor enclosures all have a dress code too, but they are more relaxed. These areas allow you to be a little more creative, especially with your summer dresses and fascinators. 

Owners

Every horse racing owner dreams of having a runner at Royal Ascot. Not only does this give you special access to areas of the racecourse, like the paddock, pre-parade ring, and owners & trainers lounge, but you have the chance to add your name to the roll of honour at the meeting.

Becoming a racehorse owner allows you to experience a great amount of fun, excitement, and drama on a race day as you cheer your horse on the track. At Royal Ascot, every race across the five days is special and prestigious to the owners, trainers, and jockeys involved.

Racegoers are set to travel to Royal Ascot from all over the world this year, including Australia and the USA. Those two countries are set to be well represented across the five days in the leading races.

Australian mare Chain Of Lightning will be bidding to join some of the great sprinters from her country to win a race at Royal Ascot. She may get two shots of doing that, as she has an entry in the King Charles III Stakes and Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes.

Earlier in the week, Fandom will be looking to give US-based trained Wesley Ward a success in the Commonwealth Cup. Ward is one of the leading overseas trainers at Royal Ascot as he has had 12 winners at the royal meeting.
