Nijū to host Ekstedt at the Yard’s chef for exclusive four-hands dinner on 7 August

On 7th August, Mayfair Japanese grill and sushi bar Nijū will host a special one-night four-hands dinner featuring a collaboration between its executive chef Chris Golding and Therese Andersson, the head chef at Ekstedt at the Yard.

During the event, the two chefs will alternate dishes, aiming to merge their distinct culinary styles, serving a six-course tasting menu that highlights their expertise in Japanese and open-fire Scandinavian cooking techniques.

The menu will include standout offerings such as Flambadou Oyster with Wagyu Fat, Apple and Beurre Blanc from Ekstedt, and English Tomatoes with Shiso Sorbet from Nijū. The evening’s menu also features a dessert of woodruff and grilled peach. Guests will have the choice between this special tasting menu, priced at £90 per person (excluding wine pairings), or selections from the restaurant’s à la carte options.

The dinner marks the inaugural event of Nijū’s Yūshoku Club (meaning supper club) series, which plans to introduce more collaborative evenings with chefs from renowned restaurants such as Aulis and Som Saa in future instalments.

Nijū is part of the Creative Restaurant Group, under the culinary direction of Endo Kazutoshi. Ekstedt at the Yard, located at the Great Scotland Yard Hotel in Westminster, is celebrated for its innovative use of traditional Scandinavian techniques, focusing on wood-fired cooking. This event not only showcases the individual talents of the chefs but also their ability to fuse their culinary philosophies into a unique dining experience.

The collaboration takes place at Nijū, which features a bespoke sushi bar and a speakeasy-style cocktail bar named Nipperkin.
