Turk by Fatih Tutak inaugurates the new AVLU Welcome Courtyard
This September, Istanbul’s only two Michelin-starred restaurant, TURK by Fatih Tutak, unveils its new addition: the AVLU Welcome Courtyard. This expansion introduces a dedicated space for socialising and relaxation, enhancing the venue’s already prestigious dining experience. Designed to reflect Turkey’s cultural heritage and natural beauty, AVLU promises to complement the restaurant’s modern yet timeless aesthetic.
The courtyard’s design features Turkish craftsmanship and includes an open fire that adds a warm ambience to the setting. “I am excited to open AVLU finally,” stated Chef Fatih Tutak. “It has been in my imagination for some time. Now we have the realisation to extend our welcome and hospitality to our guests and to add a different element to the TURK experience,”
Upon entering AVLU, guests will be offered a choice of aperitifs, including Turkish wines, bespoke cocktails, and champagnes, along with a selection of new canapes and snacks. These include Dry Aged Beef: 60 days dry aged beef with Urfa bulghur and TT Selection Caviar and, Chicken Soup: Double-boiled chicken soup with yuzu oil, and vermicelli, designed to preview the gastronomic journey ahead. For those wishing a gentle close to their evening, the courtyard can be enjoyed with some post-dinner delicacies as well.
TURK is known for its commitment to Turkish produce and culinary heritage, featuring a tasting menu that revives historic ingredients and reimagines traditional dishes using innovative techniques. This includes dishes like dry-aged native duck – that refers to dishes from the Ottoman Empire – and local street food mussel dolma presented in edible mussel shells – a reimagining of classics through the use of alternative techniques.
Located in the Now Bomonti area of Istanbul, TURK by Fatih Tutak continues to be a pivotal venue for culinary innovation under the guidance of its acclaimed chef.
