David Fincher’s Se7en returns in 4K for 30th anniversary with IMAX screenings and digital release

David Fincher’s iconic psychological thriller, Se7en, will be re-released in a newly remastered 4K resolution, both digitally and in IMAX cinemas across London starting January 2025. This reissue marks the 30^th anniversary of the film, which originally premiered in 1995. The digital and Ultra HD Blu-ray versions will be available from 6^th January, while the cinematic release is scheduled for 10^th January.

Se7en, produced by New Line Cinema and directed by three-time Academy Award nominee Fincher, features a stellar cast including Academy Award winners Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and Gwyneth Paltrow. The movie is renowned for its intense narrative and dark aesthetic, which follows two detectives, portrayed by Pitt and Freeman, as they hunt a serial killer who uses the seven deadly sins as motifs in his murders.

The restoration of Se7en was undertaken at Warner Bros Discovery’s Motion Picture Imaging (MPI), using the original camera negatives, with Fincher overseeing the process to ensure the film’s visual quality meets modern standards while retaining its original atmosphere.
