Keep bugs at bay with Alfresco

When it comes to taking flight for more exotic climates, some are more susceptible than others to being bitten by little critters such as mosquitoes, horse flies, midges… the list goes on. This can put a real dampener on your time away, but thanks to the clever botanical combinations of Alfresco, you can now breathe a sigh of relief.

Alfresco was invented 15 years ago by Sarah-Lou Morris when she was working as a volunteer at Chelsea Physic Garden, London’s oldest botanic garden. Sarah-Lou was keen to find a way to stop insects biting her, so she experimented with essential oils and lotions until she came up with the Alfresco fragrance. Available in handy travel-size, the moisturiser and fragrance work together for increased effectiveness, all made in the UK.

Its popularity has grown and is a must on-set for the star Robert Redford when making films such as The Horse Whisperer. In countries like Thailand and Cambodia where the mosquito count is high come dusk, natural repellents such as clove and cinnamon oil are used and can be found in the Alfresco formula.

The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine tested Alfresco and it has been proven as an effective deterrent of mosquitoes. Wonderful smelling and works hard to keep irritants and ugly bites at bay; the only regret is that we didn’t know about it earlier.
