Scrub with love with Prunella Soap
The past three years have been a whirlwind for Prunella Soap owner Janell Anderson. Since 2010 Prunella, based in Portland USA, has been a unique brand of vegan and organic soaps made with care, passion and the most fantastic style of packaging imaginable.
The idea behind the name comes from a nickname Janell was given when she was little: she loved to stay in the bath for too long, so her fingertips turned to prunes – so cute!
Janell’s passion and ideas strung from creative pursuits when she was younger. After taking art classes through college, she moved to focusing a career in marketing. It is only of late that she has combined the two together. Inspirations for her soaps come from European culture, especially Italian craftsmanship in fashion and furniture design. She also considers food as part of her inspiration, and continues to aim to bring it into cosmetics through the use of wholesome and basic ingredients for her products.
Prunella Soap is made using the old fashioned method of soap making, where the soap cures for a minimum of four weeks before it is available for sale to the public. Using this method ensures the soap you buy is completely natural, a wake-up call for your skin.
The creative flare, which has built Janell’s brand, has lead to her making soap for all kinds of situations, occasions and customers, including a soap for dogs. A special favourite of mine are the Adventure Sticks, in which you can buy a pack of 10 soaps and take them to the any destination of your choice. Each stick is the perfect size for one shower, or ½ a stick can be used for washing your hands. Who would have thought soap could be so adaptable?!
With all the soaps being eco-friendly, a delight to your purse and heaven for your skin, what’s stopping you from visiting Prunella Soap today? Click here.
