Forget Me Not by Corinne Brun
Forget Me Not is the brainchild of French artist and illustrator Corinne Brun, or Coco as she now prefers to be known. Former Parisian fine art student turned fashion communication bigwig, Coco has more recently returned to her art roots and in doing so she is causing a stir.
Combining powerful illustrations of animals with geometric prints, Forget Me Not has produced a colourful and scintillating collection of high quality silk scarves, ponchos, kaftans and turbans.
Each garment is lovingly manufactured in Italy, using a fine digital print to render the intricate detailing of Coco’s paintings and hand-drawn montages. The resulting sense of luxury and sophistication means that a Forget Me Not scarf would be a very fitting token for a Valentine’s Day present.
Coco reveals the inspirations behind her collections to be not only works of modernist avant-garde and surrealism, but forest animals as totems and everyday inanimate objects used as talismans. She also references literature, scaling from children’s stories to fin-de-siècle novels as muses.
Corinne has previously been commissioned to create imagery for Muse, Nylon, ELLE and Vogue magazines and has a string of impressive collaborations including Longchamp, online clothing giant ASOS and the infamous Karl Lagerfeld. It is no wonder there is so much buzz from fashion types surrounding her collection.
Prices starting from €118.00, Coco’s Forget Me Not garments are available for purchase at exclusive department stores such as Barneys and Harrods, or from her online boutique.
