London Collections: Men – Lee Roach S/S 2014
Our love affair with all things 90s does not seem to be slowing down. This time the revival is for the minimal and military. Lee Roach kept things simple with a clean silhouette at his LCM SS14 show yesterday.
Military precision was the order of the day at this presentation. In a black, khaki and camouflage, Lee Roach was able to make the stark look incredible interesting. Waists were pulled in with a single black strap that looked like luggage fastening. While the rest of the look was keep fuss-free.
A consistent white on black graphic gave the collection a modern edge that had several of the front row nodding in appreciation as model after model walked by.
Yes, 90s definitely has grown up. If Nirvana had been re-styled by MacGyver this might be what it would look like. And good on Lee to for showing that us camouflage can be re-invented after all. The slim leg trousers, the slick muscle tees and cotton camo had so much potential to go wrong and yet he managed to pull it off with ease. Front Row star Tinie Tempah had his eye on a few pieces and even tweeted his order during the show.
