An evening with Fashion Targets Breast Cancer
Fashion, shopping, edible goodies, music, and cocktails all in the name of charity – it doesn’t get much better than that!
The Sanderson hotel was the destination for the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer event on Tuesday evening. Hosted by Deanne Oliver-Evans, aka DJ Blonde Ambition, who has been an ambassador for the charity since last year.
Having worked with the charity and learning that over 50,000 women each year hear the devastating news that they have breast cancer, Deanne wanted to do as much as possible to raise awareness and much-needed funds to help out such a worthy cause!
And what better way to do so than by bringing a huge amount of women together to do one of the things they love most… Shop!
There was a gorgeous shopping area with the likes of Bohemian Vintage Rose, The White Pepper, Alter Ego, Velvet Johnstone and Spangled displaying their wares for everyone to peruse!
Shopping can be thirsty work, so it was a good job there were some beautiful cocktails being served courtesy of Grey Goose and some extremely yummy marshmallows from The London Marshmallow Company, not to mentionmeringues from Meringue Girls!
As if shopping and food wasn’t good enough, there was a raffle that was bursting at the seams with amazing prizes from companies that had donated items such as Mulberry, Birch Box, Benefit cosmetics, Goat clothing, Jagger, The Sanctuary to name but a few, there were even two tickets to Croatia on offer!
One of the best prizes was a custom-designed dress from Velvet Johnstone, who had made the dress especially for the event. The print on the dress is actual cancer cells as they are seen under a microscope; it was the perfect way to take something that can be so tragic and make something beautiful out of it!
The Fashion Targets Breast Cancer charity was set up in 1994 by Ralph Lauren and has continued to help breast cancer charities across the world ever since, working with celebrities and partnering with large fashion brands to raise awareness and help get people involved in raising vital funds. Everyone can do their bit to help and you can find out more on how to do it here.
Deanne said she would be “eternally happy to have helped in any way possible” and that was definitely done on Tuesday evening at this fabulous event!
