Ibd just gel – the invincible polish!

Always a team to be in the know beauty wise, when we heard Ibd had introduced a uv gel manicure system “just gel polish”, we hot footed it straight to our local salon for a spot of pampering, all in the name of research.

Ibd promise a high shine finish, with extreme longevity of wear. Just gel has the appearance of a traditional gel cured colour, yet is applied like a nail polish, helping to support the growth of nails whilst protecting them from damage. We thought wed put the system to the test.

Our therapist began by shaping our nails, then gently removing the shine from the surface. We were assured this doesn’t damage your nails, simply ensures the gel adheres to the nail plate. 

The dust created from filing was removed from the nail, then Ibd power bonder applied. This is the magic step which ensures longevity of wear, like no other uv gel system. Once a thin layer of base coat was applied and cured under the lamp, it was followed by two coats of colour and a top coat, each cured after application. Once this process was complete the nails were wiped over to remove any stickiness and leave a beautifully high shine glossy finish.

Our therapist encouraged us to be bold and select one of the new bright colours “turtle bay” from the fabulous collection of over 100 shades. Although this was outside of our colour comfort zone, we instantly fell head over heels in love with the neon teal shade, which had an intense depth of colour and a very slight shimmer.

Upon completion the most surreal part was the colour, it was totally dry, we were able to reach into our bags and grab our diaries to make our next appointment!

Totally overwhelmed by how fantastic our fingers and toes looked, we left the salon a group of incredibly happy ladies.

Two weeks later the polish looked as it did when first applied, high shine and flawless, with the only tell-tale sign of wear being the gap of colour where our nails had grown.  We actually liked this and found it quite satisfying to see how much growth our nails had achieved in a two week period, as they’d usually snap or break.

The photograph, is one of the teams perfectly polished toes, two weeks post application! We simply could not believe how amazing they still look.

We’ve been converted, the Ibd just gel manicure is the way forward, for long strong nails, ideal for everyone. Well highly recommend this system to anyone attempting to grow their nails, which can often seam a laborious task, not with Ibd just gel. The nails are protected, strengthened and supported whilst they grow, allowing you to achieve lengths never seen before without the damage of a false nail.
