Something for every taste in Hundreds of designs

The Hundreds’ new collection has just hit online street-wear retailer Yukka.

It was started in 2003 as a joint effort from Bobby Kim and Ben Shenassafa, and has enjoyed immense popularity in its native LA.

The Hundreds typifies itself as a “lifestyle project” rather than just a brand, which is “personal and direct, reflective of the community and culture, and dedicated to its fan base”. Orientated around youth culture and social media, it comprises an online magazine as well as the clothing line, and its inspirations combine a mish-mash of California’s skateboarding, surf and hip-hop cultures.

Their latest offering is perhaps a bit more garish than most of their past designs, and includes brightly coloured snapbacks, hoodies and T-shirts. With the influence of so many different subcultures the clothes are varied – there’s something for many tastes – and it’s easy to see the influence of each one on their garments.

The majority of their latest stuff is emblazoned with their trademark bomb logo in bold primary colours, but there are a few less eye-catching shades of pastel, neutral and darker tones if you’re after something more understated. Additionally, there are illustrated scenes, slogan tees, tops inscribed with the brand name in a variety of styles and shirts with slightly more discreet prints that aren’t so in-your-face.

Overall, their garments are really quite versatile and can be worn with pretty much anything. Definitely worth a buy for your very own slice of Golden State cool.
