LFW – Temperley London S/S 2014 collection: Belles of the ball gowns
Temperley London – a firm favourite of Kate Middleton – saw an impressive line-up of fashion frowers including Olivia Palermo, Paloma Faith and Peaches Geldoff perched on the front row at the most prestigious London Fashion Week venue, The Savoy.
The first look saw stunning panels of triple fuchsias on a full-length bodied skirt, while lattice prints with butterflies followed, creating a softer yet still very much pink alternative to the bold colour contrasts.
With an ice-cream palette, delicate mint 1920 style dresses created an eye-catching sparkle as the models sauntered down the catwalk, while laser cut motifs, appliqued overcoats and hobble skirts in brocades and lace dazzled amongst luxurious colour-blocking in satin good enough for a modern day princess.
A firm favourite that has already created a waiting list is the leopard print skirt which transcends into floral prints – showing that the two prints can merge with an ease to the eye, while the make-up by Lisa Eldridge has already caused a stir for all the right reasons.
With make-up inspired by Lauren Hutton for the second time this SS14 (Donna Karan also did at NYFW) and hair tied back into two shoelace knots and a high ponytail, the collection is bound to be an inspiration for many future-brides to come.
With beautiful billowing structures and a dreamy take on metropolitan fairytales, it’s safe to say that after this show, Temperley London are still belles of the ball gowns.
