Savagely wild or just wildly beautiful?

Savagely wild or just wildly beautiful?

They are fierce; they have a very futuristic feel to their designs; they are wild at heart. Welcome to the world of Belle Sauvage.

Literally translated into English as “Beautiful Wild”, this design duo consists of Argentinian Virginia Ferreira and Luxembourgian Christian Neuman.

Virginia and Christian work in perfect harmony with each other. Despite having both studied to be translators, they went on to study fine art. Virginia chose to follow the path of fashion design at the London College of Fashion, while Christian went on to study at the London Film School.

Their outfits are worn by the likes of Kelly Osbourne, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, La Roux, Juliette Lewis and many other celebrities. I must warn you, Belle Sauvage is a style not every woman can carry off. If you wear their collection, it is more of a fashion statement than anything else. The prints are bold and at times flashy, a fusion of funk and punk meets dominatrix biker chick.

In order to understand you have to see it with your own eyes.

Kelly Osbourne looks like quite the vamp in her choice. Those deep red lips and that simple yet daring black and white print is Belle Sauvage’s trademark.

Katy Perry, on the other hand, takes a different approach with her outfit. The dress may be multi-coloured and body hugging, but it is flattering and sexy.

Are you beginning to understand how Virginia and Christian work? Their creations are like an oxymoron. Think of jumbo shrimp, beautiful disaster, or faux bijoux. Then think of Virginia and Christian’s choice of brand name, “beautiful wild”. Despite the oxymoron, their designing styles as a duo are complementary to each other.

Belle Sauvage creations can be found in many locations worldwide, and I was thrilled to learn that even Princess Blue in my hometown of Antwerp carries their collection.

The duo describes their concept of designing in the purest way – they lift art of the canvas and place it onto a woman.

I suggest you have a look for yourself before deciding whether Belle Sauvage will be hanging in your wardrobe or not – check out the website here.
