NYFW – Emilio Cavallini presents Fall 2012 collection in video-fashion
Legendary Italian hosiery designer Emilio Cavallini presented his new Fall 2012 collection in video-fashion.
Located in The Box for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center, Emilio Cavallini showed more than just a collection of tights and bodywear. It was a presentation “designed to incite a woman’s sexual fantasies”. The presentation was complete with free champagne, and a short film entitled “Risqué Business at the Florence Excelsior Hotel” shown on a dramatic 21-foot screen. The film captured a woman in her hotel room trying on pair after pair of her new collection of sexy tights and bodywear from what must have been a major shopping spree at the Emilio Cavallini boutique. The overall atmosphere in The Box was somehow as if you had stumbled into the back door of a Burlesque club with the thumping beats and sultry blue overhead lighting.
The stars of the show were the seven models who sat on chairs slowly adding layer upon layer of sexy thigh highs, body shapers, and head-turning bandeaus with cut outs. After each model was done pulling on their tights they cat-walked over to the end of the stage where a woman was waiting to put the final touch on each model with a matching body con skirt. They then walked back to their chairs and posed for photos.
Highlights from Cavallini’s collection included bold black floral lace and fishnet styles in tights, bodysuits and thigh highs; “Tattoo” motifs seamed onto tights, animal print tights and coordinating tank tops; and Victorian floral and paisley patterns on sheer tights and tanks – to give the illusion of nudity with that extra pizzazz.
Cavallini sums up this sexy chic Autumn/Winter 2012 for girls who scream “I’m not the average girl next door!”
