180 Piccadilly: The brand new home of Cath Kidston
Walking down from Green Park, past The Ritz and the Royal Academy, you expect to find yourself in the midst of madness, with tourists littering the streets. Well now, this area of London has even more reason to be busy. The largest ever Cath Kidston store has been opened in Piccadilly; a picture of the success this brand has had in the last 12 months. The 7,000 square-foot store was opened on 5th December by Cath Kidston herself, who was met with endless queues of dedicated fans who wanted to be the first to step through the door.
The store itself is true to the Cath nature, as it is simply dazzling. It is a true delight to the eye which hails the pretty florals and polka dot prints we are all so fond of. With stock stacked in picturesque arrays of what every English house should look like, the store is the definition of British heritage and somehow has the power to make you want every single item in there.
Bringing the immense success of this brand to life, a brand new print called “Piccadily” was launched, illustrating the characteristics of the area in a quirky and adorable way. From red buses to the famous Piccadilly screens, all of the things that we know and love this part of London are there, and we absolutely love it.
To add to the celebrations, a fleet of taxis decorated in the iconic print were also launched with the opening. Hidden within two giant printed present boxes in Marble Arch, onlookers were surprised with floral printed taxis that can be now seen travelling the city’s streets. The cabs, which if hailed down by dedicated Cath Kidston fans, will be given a free ride to the store in Piccadilly in the run up to Christmas.
With the big day approaching fast, this is the perfect place to find a stocking filler before the 25th December.
