London Collections: Men – Pringle of Scotland A/W 2014 presentation

Pringle of Scotland showcased their autumn/winter 2014 menswear collection in the Heritage Rooms of Victoria House. The iconic brand was one of the first to introduce knitwear as outerwear in the 1900s, which led to their inherent longevity. Pringle continues to push boundaries in both men’s and women’s wear by carefully balancing innovation with the heritage.

As expected, Pringle delivered on a solid showcase of outerwear, cashmeres and knits. Silhouettes were kept classic, letting the textures and techniques to do all the talking. Cashmeres and velvets were paired with cellophane and neoprene, while embossed and hand-knitted argyle put a modern twist on some of our favourite signature prints. The featured mesh motif was prominent throughout this season at LC: M, but for Pringle it felt reminiscent of their S/S 2013 women’s wear collections. The palette was neutral, with deep indigos and ruby reds used for contrast.

The rich blue velvet jacket in tartan was a dream, and we’d love to see it on the red carpet. Stunning and subtle, you could only see the criss-crossed pattern in the right light.  The grey knitted blazer with red interior was so simple yet fresh – a really practical piece that we’d love to see in every colour combination.
