Trend alert: the blues are back

Spring 2014 welcomes back the colour blue, from pastels to aquas, cobalts and electric blues, it’s going to be the cooling and refreshing colour that will be perfect for the upcoming warmer seasons.

From dresses to tops, bikinis to jewellery pieces, blue will be taking over everything. Interestingly enough, it will be incorporated in various ways, from geometric shapes to patterns – some of which are more subtle than others- to animal prints, all in shades of blue.

Mint will also be incorporated into the blue colour wheel, adding a bit of vibrancy. However, if you like to keep it tame and stick to the pastels, stress no more. The blue tones range from exotic vibrant shades to soft greys, meaning there’s something in  the spectrum for everyone.

The great thing about colour trends is that they do not necessarily mean you have to replace your wardrobe with a new one; incorporating statement pieces from the new trends can be a great way to spice up your wardrobe without breaking the bank.
