Tatty Devine launches Eley Kishimoto collaboration

 

In another feat of design, Tatty Devine has joined forces with print design legends Eley Kishimoto to create their first range of printed Perspex jewellery.

After the success of the Tatty Devine Fine collection at Selfridges, design duo Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine are adding yet another collaborator to their growing list and the latest collection has not fallen short of their usual quirky standards.

This time, they have teamed up with British designers, Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto who make up fashion label Eley Kishimoto.  The pair started their London based company in 1990 and their colourful prints gained notoriety after working with design houses such as Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen.

The jewellery collection has been inspired by Eley Kishimoto’s Spring/Summer 2012 fashion collection called ‘Toy Town Eden’ – a fairytale interpretation of The Garden of Eden.

Some of the pieces are decorated with prints of leaves and flowers while others have been cut into similar shapes.  The collection even includes a snake taking a bite out of that infamous apple.

Tatty Devine has picked out individual elements of each print and recreated them in three-dimensional shiny Perspex, making the pattern appear to pop out of the jewellery.

All of the prints work perfectly with Tatty’s signature kitsch style and co-founder Rosie promises that there is more to come:  “We were very excited to be asked to create the accessories for the Spring/Summer 2012 collection” she says.

“We wanted to make something in response to their beautiful prints, and then decided it would be interesting to try printing on to acrylic.  This is the first time we have used this technique and it worked so well we have taken it into our Autumn/Winter 2012 collection.”

The collection will be launched on 28th February, and with prices all under the £100 mark, it would be a sin not to get your hands on some of these jewels.
