Holly Fulton catwalk show report for LFW A/W 2014

Holly Fulton is a London-based designer who is best known for her art deco prints, luxe materials and accessories. Her autumn/winter 2014 collection explored women in a world of technology and was inspired by Fritz Lang’s Metropolis.

Fulton built on her strengths of fun graphic prints through the repetitive use of floral and hand motifs.  The designer apparently has a bit of a hand fetish. She’s got a collection of moulded arms and phalanges back in her East London flat, and has even had dreams of being a hand model. To illustrate this, the collection featured embellished slinky dresses and oversized outerwear with hands grasping phones and lipsticks. Pale blues and pinks injected with darker autumnal hues of neutrals and deep maroon made for a light-hearted look while barely there glasses took a more subtle spin on geek chic.

We absolutely adore this and every other Holly Fulton collection. She seems to have such a great sense of humour and a commercial aspect to her work that will likely be reinterpreted on the high street. Hands down, this was one of our favourite collections so far.  (Pun intended.)
