LFW – Jeffrey Michael AW 2012 collection

The Light Bar at St Martin’s Lane Hotel became host to the debut of the fascinating and unique Autumn/Winter 2012 Jeffrey Michael collection. Famous for this one off creators for celebrities and other fashion sources, the first showcase of his work drew ideas from elements of fashion combined with lighting integration and textured layering. Called ‘The Preternatural Deity’ collection, inspiration came from ‘the silhouettes of the Golden Age of Hollywood’, remembering famous faces for red carpet dresses and sheer sophistication. ‘Embodied symbolism of women’ also led further inspiration to the totally exceptional collection through the idea of the four elements, giving the garments symbolism to earth, wind, fire and water.

On entrance to the Light Bar, onlookers were graced with large images of male faces, pulled totally ludicrous yet amusing faces and highlighted with magenta and yellow lighting in the block ceilings above. The presentation of the collection was displayed with live models that wore a range of pencil skirt’s, corsets and dresses. Materials used looked at tiny green toy army men embellished to a corset and a black and white lettered keyboard dress reinforced with white hip placed lighting.

The collection plays to bizarre but truly incredible design work and Jeffrey Michael’s collection is one that will go down in history.
