Kasabian – 48:13

Kasabian – 48:13 | Album review

Disappointing, insipid and tedious are words that could never be used to describe Kasabian’s musical work. They have proven time and time again to be proficient in bringing nations to their metaphorical knees with their innate talent, and therefore the anticipation for the release of their fifth studio album is intense. “I got the feeling that I’m gonna keep you up all night,” sings their vocalist Tom Meighan on the first single from 48:13 – and never has a lyric been so apt, because when music is so vivid and stimulating who really needs sleep?

The rousing album leaps from rock-inspired tracks such as bumblebee and doomsday to colourful, energetic tunes like eez-eh and glass which will have you up on your feat and raving before you know what’s happened. Another greatly prominent song is treat which exudes dark electro beats and takes you on a mystifying journey. Though the track may be lyrically quite straightforward, it is effectual in its deliverance and is a true gem on the record.

If you’re already aware of the group’s standard musical conventions then you’ll know what to anticipate, but don’t let the predictability deter you because the album genuinely is something spectacular.

So, what would be a fair appraisal of 48:13? Well,if you’re already an enthusiast of Kasabian then it is a guarantee that won’t be disillusioned or let-down by their new musical anthology. Likewise, if you are a new listener then the album will provide you with enough fiery, vibrant tunes to give you an everlasting status of admiration for the band. In conclusion, there is no uncertainty that 48:13 will soar the charts and receive the profound recognition that it merits. Kasabian have truly outdone themselves once again.
