Asian Fashion’s Finest at Kensington Palace
Fashion lovers always have a keen interest in the catwalks of Paris, Milan, London and New York. But have you ever seen the work of fashion designers from Pakistan?
Earlier in June, the Asian fashion elite came together at Kensington Palace for Fashion Parade, an event which celebrates the finest emerging fashion designers from Pakistan.
The spectacular catwalk show showcased the work of eight leading Pakistani designers, all with a unique take on fashion from Asia, from the contemporary and quirky to the exquisite evening gowns from Nilofer Shahid.
Fashion Parade’s founder Sadia Siddiqui, Mustang Productions, in association with Ammara Hikmat from Encylomedia, first brought her glamorous event to London in 2013 and decided to continue in 2014 due to the show’s success. Sadia’s passion for supporting Asian fashion came to life in this star-studded show.
She commented: “I launched Fashion Parade in London to bring the world of Asian fashion to the capital and to show the wonders of Pakistani design. It is important to me that the UK sees another side to Pakistani culture, something very close to my heart.”
She added: “We partnered with Sadia of Mustang to launch Fashion Parade as a platform that brings the fame and recognition to Pakistani couture that it deserves. I believe that this platform will also give some meaningful business relationships to our designers and will facilitate interactions between them, the media and buyers.”
The show saw guests Anna Orsini and Lord Noon make appearances, as well as pioneers of the business, media and fashion industry. Fashion Parade was raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital children’s charity.
So, if you missed out this year perhaps you should make a visit to Fashion Parade’s show next year.
