Help Rett syndrome patients with fashionable bracelets
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke gives this definition for Rett syndrome: “A neurodevelopmenal disorder that affects girls almost exclusively. It is characterised by normal early growth and development followed by a slowing of development, loss of purposeful use of the hands, distinctive hand movements, slowed brain and head growth, problems with walking, seizures, and intellectual disability”.
Spanish brand unode50 have made a “Pulsera solidaria” (solidarity bracelet) for helping the people affected by this syndrome. You can help in the fight by purchasing a UNOde50 bracelet – their Rett awareness promotion has one for adults in black and for one for children in green (the color of hope). This disorder and its difficult symptoms affects over 3,000 girls in Spain and almost 300,000 in the world.
The Spanish jewellery brand talked to Julia Roberts, who helped design the bracelet. The actress dubbed girls with Rett syndrome “Silent Angels”, and the designers incorporated the phrase into their slogan, which is written on a silver-plated disc with a picture of two hands forming angel’s wings.
Unode50 is a native Spanish company with a lot of creativity and a unique style. With a very wide range of jewellery accessories for both men and women, they are defined for their exclusive pieces that have a different look. This bracelet for Rett syndrome is a wonderful way to raise awareness about the terrible illness.
