Codage summer skincare product review

After just one night-time application of the Codage Purifying Micellar Water, Serum No.2 and a solid nine hours sleep (a rare weekend luxury) the difference is already noticeable. Smooth and soft skin, without the admittedly gross abundance of grease and oil that plagues my forehead and nose every morning. I woke up feeling fresh-faced and (shock) mildly presentable. So, what are these miraculous products?

Codage Purifying Micellar Water (£23) is a super light and sensitive cleanser, perfect for the summer heat. It should be applied twice a day after make-up removal, and it gently cleans, detoxifies and regenerates the skin, whilst building up its natural defences. It purifies and counteracts imperfections, leaving the skin fresh and rejuvenated.

This product was perfect on my sensitive and easily angered skin because it was so gentle. Other products have left my face a little raw and reddened after cleansing, but the Purifying Water was the ideal little pick-me-up after a long day. At £23, this product really is quite the little bargain.

The Serum (£64), however, blew me away. The formula, to be applied after cleansing, is built to banish shine, to mattify skin and to repair after the day’s wear and tear. As aforementioned, I am lucky enough to wake up with a near reflective face on a daily basis… but not today.

The products pros massively outweigh the cons. Yes, £64 is a little pricey for just one part of your skincare regime, and the cute little glass pipette doesn’t exactly do the job, but the serum itself is, quite frankly, dreamy. I’ve never experienced a product that takes effect so quickly, and has such a devastating effect on oiliness whilst maintaining a gentle impact on the skin.
