McQ joins forces with Puma to create the perfect mix of rebellious and bold
McQ of the Alexander McQueen fashion family will be joining forces with Puma for Puma x McQ A/W 2014.
McQ is a subsidiary of the Alexander McQueen powerhouse, lower priced and that little bit more attainable. The McQ label creates ready-to-wear for both men and women; it is this brand that has paired up with the sports brand to create a new line. The McQ brand was started in 2007 by Lee Alexander McQueen himself and five years later a collection was showcased at London Fashion Week with a boutique being opened in the same year.
Puma and Alexander McQueen collaborated back in 2006 and their collection received rave reviews, eight years on and the two fashion companies are cementing their ongoing relationship by creating a fashion line that will combine the “rebellious spirit” of McQ and the “bold youth culture references” of Puma.
Puma has become one of the most successful German sportswear companies and everybody is excited to see its partnership with the British designer progress. Combining the two contrasting styles always creates a brilliant collection and we are sure this time around will be no different.
A release date is set for early August but we are yet to see a piece from the range so it seems that we will have to wait a little bit longer. It has been said that Brazilian model Marina Nery will front the campaign but no official images from the Puma x McQ A/W 2014 collection have been released.
We all wait in anticipation to see just a snippet from the much-awaited McQ x Puma pairing and when the time finally comes we are sure to be in awe. Until that time you can follow Puma, McQ and Alexander McQueen on Twitter and even sign up for the newsletter ensuring you are the first to hear about any fashion news.
