Jessie Ware – Tough Love
If you spend an unholy amount of time listening to Radio 1, then chances are you’ve had the name Jessie Ware drilled into your head by now. If not, then it’s time for you to do some research and get to know the London-born artist. Her new album, Tough Love, is about to take the UK by storm; a storm that will obliterate the music scene as we now know it.
Naturally, her sensual, peaceful tones won’t be for everyone, but if you’re in need of comforting after a long and laborious day at the office then this is the album for you. Tracks like Desire and Say You Love Me echo the peaceful vibes of Sam Smith, which, let’s be honest, is never a bad thing, and Say You Love Me even has some lyrical input from the legendary Ed Sheeran – how’s that for impressive?
Other inspiring tracks include You & I (Forever), Cruel and the album’s title-track, Tough Love, all of which use Ware’s smooth vocal skills to their advantage, and deliver a musical feast so rich and varied in flavour that you’ll never find yourself mimicking Oliver and asking for more.
As with any album though, Tough Love has flaws and weak points, but they are so few and far between that it would take a intense investigation to even perceive them. Each and every last track has been created with time, passion and talent, which is a refreshing marvel to behold. Ware has no need for auto-tune or provocative clothing to grab attention for herself, because her talent is more powerful that all of the smoke screens and musical cheat tactics combined.
Unique is a word that one would use sparingly when it comes to music in this day and age, but it is also a word that applies to this deliciously fresh album. If you’re searching for music jam-packed full of ethereal, creative grandeur then pull out your wallet and invest in Jessie Ware; you won’t regret it for a second.
