Victoria’s Secret to launch stores in London this summer
Every man you’ve ever met has heard of Victoria’s Secret, thanks to the lingerie brand’s employment of goddess-like Angels (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Miranda Kerr and Adriana Lima, to name a few) and their annual parade that is the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The global broadcasting of this extravaganza is what has earned Victoria’s Secret fame across the world – you know what they say … sex sells. It’s just good business.
Now, the infamous £6billion American brand is setting its sights on previously unconquered territory – launching not one, but three stores in London this year. Part of an international expansion plan, the retailer is planning stores in strategic markets including the UK.
Come June 2012, Victoria’s Secret will be opening its flagship European store in London’s Mayfair. The store, located on the corner of New Bond Street and Brook Street, in London’s most luxurious shopping district, will feature three floors with over 16,000ft of selling space.
A second store is due to open summer 2012 at the new Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre. A third is also planned, but its location is currently unconfirmed.
Although renowned for their sexy underwear and nightwear, Victoria’s Secret have diversified into swimwear, cosmetics and jeans sold through more than a thousand outlets in the US and online.
The verdict – a sexy new place to shop for lingerie and beauty products, and we’re guessing your guy – will be getting a little excited too.
