David Beckham involved in car crash in London
David Beckham was left “shaken” but unharmed following a car accident on Saturday.
The 39-year-old retired footballer’s Audi RS6 purportedly collided with a Mitsubishi Colt. It is reported that Beckham and his son Brooklyn both emerged from the accident uninjured. Police were called to the scene at 1.29pm.
Speaking to the Telegraph, a source close to Beckham said: “They were shaken. It was quite a heavy prang at quite a speed but everybody walked away uninjured. Everybody’s fine. Thankfully the car’s airbags deployed.”
The incident took place in London Colney, Hertfordshire, after Beckham picked up Brooklyn from a football game at Arsenal’s training ground.
Brooklyn, 15, had been playing for the club’s under-16 team against Brighton and Hove Albion, having joined the club on a short-term contract this month.
The crash was reportedly witnessed by at least two of Brighton’s under-16 squad. Young footballer Thomas Cadman tweeted: “Weird to play against Brooklyn Beckham earlier. Even weirder to be currently stuck behind David Beckham as he has crashed his car.”
Another player, Archie Davies, posted on the social media site: “David Beckham looks like he got in a car crash and hurt his shoulder.”
This is not the first time Beckham has been involved in a road accident; last October the star was involved in a collision in Beverly Hills.
