Victoria’s Secret show 2014

For the first time ever, the world’s most exclusive fashion show traded its New York home to be hosted across the pond at London’s Earls Court, in early December. The spectacle of a show, now in it’s 19^th year, pulled in a global audience of 500 million in approximately 200 countries, with just a lucky 3,000 invite-only attendees viewing the show live from the venue.

A total of 47 models touched down in the capital in a private Victoria’s Secret-branded Boeing 767 – we wouldn’t expect anything less, of course!

The enormously anticipated affair welcomed many big names in the modelling world such as Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio – VS’s longest-standing Angels – as well as British beauties Jourdan Dunn and Lily Donaldson, on hand to represent our nation.

The show, awash with extravagance, was split into six different themes and many were accompanied by some of the world’s hottest music stars. A powerful opener, Gilded Angels, saw golden-winged girls strut along a dazzling catwalk, glamorously thrusting their pouts and blowing kisses out to the audience, building mammoth excitement for Dream Girls, which welcomed Taylor Swift. Sporting a dreamy baby pink, satin robe, she belted out chart-topper Blank Space as she performed alongside some of her best friends who were walking in the show, including American beauty, Lily Aldridge.

Ed Sheeran also took to the catwalk during Exotic Traveller, delivering a far mellower segment with the stunning Thinking out Loud. Here we saw the notorious fantasy bras set in 18-karat gold and encrusted with diamonds, rubies and sapphires. These were worn by Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio and valued at a staggering $2 million each.

Other acts included Adriana Grande who joined the models for a medley of four songs including Love me Harder and Bang Bang, as well as up-and-coming talent, Hozier.

Then with a finale as grand as you could expect, all 47 models took to the catwalk in the most stunning of lingerie, accompanied by their fellow musical acts to wave us goodbye until next year.
