Nicki Minaj becomes the new face of Roberto Cavalli S/S 2015
Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, has selected singer/rapper Nicki Minaj to front his latest Spring/Summer 2015 fashion line.
Famous for creating beautifully colourful garments with exotic prints, glamorous designs and opulent add-ons, Cavalli’s latest collection is no different. With this in mind, there is no surprise that he has chosen the famously bold, daring and striking Nicki Minaj to be the face of this fabulous fashion range.
Often seen rocking fitted, contoured outfits that show off her enviable curvaceous figure, Minaj is all for female empowerment. Indeed, it seems Cavalli has picked up on this message, stating that he wanted a woman who was sensual, aware of her body and not afraid to show off her curves. Enter: Nicki Minaj.
Just a few images from the campaign have been released but they feature Nicki with a rather demure make over. In recent years the American starlet has toned down her look from Hello Kitty, Barbie-inspired styling to block-coloured bodycons with low-cut fronts. However, will this new Cavalli crusade also have some influence on her look?
The collection features a dazzling display of colour, pattern, shape and fabric, all styled perfectly on Nicki, who sports a Louise Brooks-inspired bob, complete with nude lips and black cat eyes.
Some of the designs are 70s inspired, (one being a pretty beige-coloured mini-dress with geometric patterns), whereas others have Cavalli sticking to what he does best: exotic prints. The low cut, floor-length summer dress in clashing red and green on a tropical print is the supreme example, whilst the zebra-print maxi featuring an intricate neckline and thigh-high split is also beautiful.
Colours clash, prints collide and the fabrics float all on the stunning body of Nicki. Undeniably, this gorgeous collection from Roberto Cavalli will have everybody dreaming of summer.
